José Aldo and Marlon "Chito" Vera face each other again on Sunday, October 4, at the Coliseo General Rumiñahui in Quito, Ecuador. This time there are no strikes: it is a grappling match, with victory by submission only, at the Hype FC event.

Their first meeting was in MMA, on December 19, 2020, at UFC Vegas 17. Aldo won by unanimous decision on the judges' scorecards.

A former UFC champion who has retired from MMA, the Brazilian keeps competing in grappling. Vera, who is fighting at home, has already said he will go for the submission.

What Chito Vera said

"We've already fought once, it was a close fight decided by the judges. I think this time I'll be able to move him around a bit, to see if I can choke him at the end," the Ecuadorian told the newspaper El Universo.

Hype FC in Quito also features other grappling superfights and bare-knuckle fights. Ecuadorian UFC fighter Michael Morales also has a grappling match at the event.
